Orion AI Governance Internship
This is an opportunity for talented and ambitious students to get hands-on AI policy experience with a 12-week placement at a think tank, where you’ll develop skills, insight and connections to help you take your career in AI governance to the next level.

The Programme
1. Application
Complete an application form, short work test and interview with us. If successful, you will be referred for a final stage interview with the think tank we have matched you to.

2. Preparation and training
Prior to commencing your placement, you will attend a week-long training with us tailored to your role. This is a chance to get to know our team and answer any final questions you may have prior to commencing the placement.

3. Placement (June - September 2025)
The placement will typically last for 12 weeks. During this time you will be treated as a member of the team at your placement organisation and work on AI policy projects aligned to the needs of the organisation, your interests and development goals.
You will be supported in your development and wellbeing by our team and your line manager/team at the placement organisation throughout.

4. Post Internship
Following the internship, you will complete a short write-up reflecting on your experience. You will join our Orion alumni network, and we will continue to support you on your AI Governance career journey.

Eligibility

You must be available in-person for the training and placement (June -September) in London, UK

You must be a current participant in one of the Orion (formerly AI Governance Fast Track) schemes, i.e., the Policy Accelerator and/or Mentorship programmes.

You must be a student at the time of applying

Payment
Interns receive a total stipend of £9,600 for the 13-week programme.

This internship is open to all degree disciplines. We expect it will be especially well-suited to those with a background or interests in fields such as:
